Dog Toys: Keeping Control of the Clutter

bullet imagebullet imagePet owners love to spoil their furry friends. Dog toys come in all shapes and sizes, each one offering something different and unique. But what happens when the dog stuff starts to take over the house and create a clutter catastrophe? Here are a couple of tips for keeping control of all the clutter!

Designate One Area for Pet Stuff

Just like any other member of the house, the key to organizing a pet is keeping all of his or her items in one place. Instead of having toys in each room of the house, create one central location where all the pet toys will be stored. This makes clean up easy as toys can be rounded up at the end of the night or before company comes over to be put in one space. (For really ambitious dog owners, it would be a great idea to teach the pet to put his or her own toys away!)

Look for Items That can Pull Double Duty

Pet clutter, especially toys, can quickly get out of hand and finding just the right place for everything can be difficult. Take the time to look for a pet bed or even an ottoman that will be able to hold all of the items. Some pet beds have hidden drawers that provide just enough storage room. An ottoman works as extra furniture for the humans in the house and a storage location for the pets. In these situations, everyone is happy.

Rotate Toys to Keep Things Interesting

After taking a look at all the pet toys discussed on www.petsgetthebest.com, it can be tempting to run right out and purchase each and every one. Even if this has already happened, it doesn't mean that there are too many toys in the house. Consider rotating the toys. Only keep out a couple of toys for the dog to play with and hide the rest. Place them on top of the closet or in a container that the pet cannot gain access to. Then, every couple of weeks, pick out a couple of new toys and put the old ones away. To your pet, it will seem like getting brand new toys every couple of weeks.
